I went to the shops after I left work to buy some nibbles and hunker down for the evening to watch at 8:30pm on ITV 1 the first and historic Leaders Debate hosted by Alistair Stewart.
After sitting through the full 90 minutes I have to say like all the pundits and polls afterwards I felt Nick Clegg had won on presentation David Cameron was very poor.
Speaking to party members afterwards and co-workers they all thought I had good stamina to have sat through it all, some did not watch it at all and others flicked through the other channels and came back to it.
As some one who has sat through to four in the morning watching the Obama - McCain Presidential Debates in November 2009, I was concerned that it would all be a bit flat like those were, especially as all party teams had agreed on 76 rules, but there was none of it lots of interactions and challenging and some cross questioning too.
There is no doubt that this will a set piece event at every general election from now on.
