Longlisting Meeting with the Selection Committee

Friday 22nd July 2011
Had the day off so that I could finish off reading the last four remaining CV Application forms.
Typically for most of the day it was nice and sunny, but when it was time to go to Camilla's house in Bletchley I was driving in a downpour!
I was the first to arrive got settled in the nice conservatory again until others arrived.
We recieved 15 applications 11 Male and 4 Female, and went through them one by one and agreed on eight that were to be interviewed in the longlisting round.
My instructions were to find a venue as the Labour Hall would be too small to conduct the interviews email the successful and non sucessful candidates on Monday as the interview date is the 30th so as usual a very tight turnaround.
I had to also email one of the candidates as he would be away out of the Country on that day and find a way of getting round this.
It was agreed that each candidate would have a half hour slot and the range of questions were also agreed.
We agreed the names of the door staff one of them being me and the names of four tellers but needed another one so I will have to get someone else for the final Hustings meeting and vote.
We went also through the proceedures for the final hustings and vote so that I was clear in my mind would needed doing along with the arrangements for the first hustings meeting on Thursday 4th August at the Coffee Hall Meeting Place.
I appreciated Ann and Camilla's comments on the amount of work I had to do although I like a challenge I was wondering if I had bitten off more that I can chew (of course Kevin has been a great help otherwise god knows how I would have got everything done in such a tight timescale,) as obviously I only get the one chance to get this right.
I drove home again in a downpour and at the Elfield Park Roundabout leading to the Watling Street V4 it was coned off with two Police Cars and Officers standing nearby, luckily I did not need to use that road presume there was an accident (although I couldn't see any thing) hope it was not too serious!
