I have just gone on to the website to try and download the new Conference app and it says it is coming soon! so I rang the Conference Services Team to find out when I could access it and was told there is no date yet that they could give me.
I find this increditable concidering we are so near to the start of the conference and especially when I am sure delegates want to start planning their timetables to attend Receptions and Fringe Events at this rate it will not leave much time.
The other day I downloaded on to my Blackberry the Labour Party Campaign App it was is so out of date with the main page being a speech from Gordon Brown when he was Prime Minister and the screen freezes all the time and you cannot access any of the pages.
As a party we really need to get our act together and make sure when offering these services to members and the public that first of all they are available straight away and secondly that they work effectively otherwise the party looks amateur or at worst a laiughing stock.
I recived the following response from the Labour Party:
"The Conference App is being developed externally and managed by Conference Services. I've had an email from them this morning and it seems that it's now ready (for iPhone, Android and Blackberry) and so I'm hopeful of getting a link up to it today or tomorrow.
On the other Blackberry App mentioned, that was a General Election app and is not something we currently promote as a 'current' app. That said, it is able to be found through Google and to avoid further confusion Paul and I are investigating whether we can get it taken off the Blackberry App Store."
