Arrived early at the Woughton Community Couincil offices in Netherfield knowing that I had a long day ahead of me getting the teas and coffees ready filling up the urn etc, Dan arrived first followed by Camilla and Veronica who kindly said when the selection process is over they would treat me to a meal for all my hard work.
They agreed with me on the layout of the room with cups and a jug of water ready for each candidate.
The rest of the interview panel arrived we were informed that one candidate pulled out the day before and another would still be out of the Country, so we would be hanging around as they would of been interviewed in the middle of the day which was bad planning on my part as I had set up the interview timetable if only I had a crystal ball.
I had also a few days earlier circulated the questions to the panel, and as there were more members than questions it mean't we all each had a break from answering a question depending on which candidate was being interviewed as we rotated the questions before each interview started.
The room was getting more stuffy and hotter as the hours were passing what a way to spend a beautiful hot and sunny Saturday.
After the interviews were finished we discussed the final shortlist and after a couple of votes we agreed that 5 candidates would go forward and that I would email the candidates along with those who did make it through.
On my way home I did my weekly food shop in a rush feeling so bad knowing that the candidates were waiting to hear from me but I had no food in the house.
When I got home I felt so exhausted I collapsed on to the sofa recovering looking at my watch thinking I must get my energy levels up to open up my laptop and send those emails, which after a couple of emails I did so.
